Grand Opening of the World’s Largest Mobile Classroom and Simulator Lab for Heavy Equipment Operator Training

Simlog Inc., the pioneer and standard in affordable PC-based heavy equipment simulators for operator training in education and industry, is pleased to announce our contribution to the world’s largest mobile classroom and simulator lab for heavy equipment operator training.

The trailer was prepared by the New Brunswick Road Builders and Heavy Construction Association (NBRBHCA) with financial support from the Province of New Brunswick’s Ministry of Education, to enhance a specialized co-op program for high school students by adding heavy equipment operations, in English and French.

After careful review, the Association selected Simlog for our training simulation quality, unique multi-purposing, and unmatched cost-effectiveness.

Inside the trailer are 12 multi-purpose stations with Simlog’s Skid Steer LoaderBackhoe Loader, and Wheel Loader Personal Simulators, all equipped with identical Replica Controls and one front display. In this way, 12 students are learning to operate (simulated) heavy equipment at the same time, with all the simulation results stored in the same Simlog Simulation Manager database.

The co-op program is eight weeks long, and each student will receive 40 hours of simulator-based training time for each of the 3 types of heavy equipment, for a total of 120 hours.

“Thanks to this experiential learning, students across the province will gain greater confidence and better prepare for subsequent workforce training at the controls of the real heavy equipment made available by the Association’s members,” — Tom McGinn, Executive Director of the New Brunswick Road Builders and Heavy Construction Association
“We all know that the construction industry is a key contributor to economic prosperity everywhere, including the Maritimes. And that’s why it’s so important, at the high school level, to promote trades training, when boys and girls and their parents are thinking about possible careers. And that’s exactly what this Heavy Equipment Operators Simulation Classroom will do.” — Paul Freedman, Simlog’s President
