Teach Hands-On Skills
Build Hands-On AC/DC Electrical Skills for Residential and Industrial Applications
Amatrol's AC/DC Electrical Learning System features a heavy-duty welded steel frame with built-in AC and DC power supplies, instrumentation, component mounting surface, and component storage panel. It features industrial-sized electrical power and control components, typical of what students will find in the field. Learners will use these components to practice hands-on skills such as operating a circuit using a circuit breaker, testing a capacitor using a digital multimeter, connecting and operating a basic lighting circuit, locating a short circuit, and troubleshooting a transformer by measuring continuity.
Apply Foundational Electrical Knowledge to Real-World Applications
The T7017A’s curriculum begins with the basics of electricity and builds to show how electricity is utilized in residential applications, as well as in industrial components and areas such as programmable controllers, electrical motor control, and electro-fluid power. Learners will study topics such as how to use a voltmeter to measure voltage, stating a formula for calculating total parallel resistance, the functions of four electromagnetic devices, how switches and used in combination circuits, and how to troubleshoot a transformer. This electrical training course is presented in an interactive multimedia format, featuring stunning 3D graphics and video, audio voiceovers of all text, and interactive quizzes and activities.
Interactive Basic Electrical eLearning Curriculum
Amatrol's AC/DC electrical training system features an interactive eLearning curriculum that integrates various learning methods to create an engaging, effective learning experience. Amatrol’s multimedia eLearning curriculum includes text with voiceovers, videos, 3D animations, pictures, interactive activities, quizzes, and self-reviews. Specific basic electrical topics covered include basic electrical circuits, electrical measurements, circuit analysis, inductance and capacitance, combination circuits, and transformers. Within these topics, learners will study objectives like connecting and operating a circuit using three types of manual switches; using a digital multimeter to measure voltage drops in series and parallel circuits; and using Ohm's Law to calculate voltage, current, and resistance in a series circuit.
Free Learning Management System (LMS)
Amatrol eLearning is easy-to-use for both students and instructors. Its web-based interface is simple to navigate and available on any WebGL-compatible Internet browser. Instructors love Amatrol eLearning for its simple, yet sophisticated Learning Management System (LMS). The LMS allows instructors to create custom courses, monitor student participation, track course progress, assess knowledge levels before a course, and test knowledge levels after completion. Learners appreciate that they can start and stop as needed, moving through each Amatrol course at their own pace. If a self-review reveals that they didn’t understand a particular topic as well as they thought, they can revisit it before moving on.
This course includes a virtual simulator!
Amatrol's basic AC/DC electrical eLearning curriculum also features a virtual simulator that allows learners to practice hands-on skills even when they don't have access to the physical trainer. Virtual simulators replicate hands-on equipment in such great detail that learners will feel like they are using the actual equipment. Learners perform the same industry-based tasks using the virtual equipment they would perform using equipment hardware. Virtual simulators offer instructors and learners great flexibility when learning remotely or when multiple learners must share a physical trainer.
Basic AC/DC Electrical Training for High School
For instructors wishing to teach basic AC/DC electrical knowledge and hands-on skills at the high school level, Amatrol has divided its basic electrical training into two easily manageable high school courses. The equipment, eLearning curriculum, and virtual simulators remain the same, but the material is divided into two separate courses to make it easier for instructors to teach one course each semester:
- AC/DC Electrical 1 Learning System (96-ADE1)
- AC/DC Electrical 2 Learning System (96-ADE2)
