Chain Drive Training System Plus
DAC Worldwide’s Chain Drive Training System Plus (223-PAC) is a heavy-duty learning aide that allows for in-depth training in industrial chain drives, heavy/silent chains, and sprocket set usage. Through the use of a welded aluminum driver and actual industrial hardware, the trainer provides a complete introduction to chain nomenclature, assembly, disassembly, alignment, and maintenance.
The Chain Drive Training System Plus includes the following:
- Chain Drive Training System (223)
- Heavy Series Chain and Sprocket Set (223-001)
- Silent Chain and Sprocket Set (223-003)
- Plastic Economy Shim Kit (228-002)
- Magnetic Base/Dial Indicator Set (208-015)
Packaged with several chain types, connecting links, attachment chain samples, sprockets, bushings, and applicable tools, this learning system offers a complete training experience in this fundamental industrial drive technology. Learners will use these industrial-grade components to study topics such as taper lock bushings, chain drive maintenance, installation/alignment of chains, and tensioning of chains. Not only do the components provide durability to stand up to frequent use, but they also aid learners in becoming better prepared for the tasks they will encounter on the job.
The Chain Drive Training System Plus includes the use of straight, keyed-bore, taper-bore, taper-lock, QD bushings, Morse HV chains, and silent chains, which allow for a variety of hands-on exercises. It also provides skill-building for industry-relevant tasks, like installing/removing QD and taper-lock bushings, fabricating shaft keys, and how to align industrial idlers.
Practice Hands-On Mechanical Skills for Various Applications
The Chain Drive Training System Plus features a formed-steel baseplate with provision for tabletop mounting, as well as a welded aluminum motor and driven elements. It includes training on ground steel shafting, using a handwheel, and understanding multiple motor positions, which allows for establishment of several different chain lengths. It also comes with a chain, including 40 series standard, double-pitch, and single-pitch/double-strand, as well as six (6) mixed diameter sprockets with provisions for keyed, taper-bore, taper-lock, and QD huds.
The Heavy Series Chain and Sprocket Set comes with 10 feet of #60 heavy series chain, two (2) type 60B sprockets with a 20/20 tooth, and four (4) heavy series connecting links. The Silent Chain and Sprocket Set comes with five feet of SC404, ½-inch pitch, 1-inch wide silent chain, two (2) Type 404 Sprockets, and two (2) ½-inch silent chain connecting links. All of the components match the details of the curriculum provided with DAC Worldwide chain drive training systems.
Learn to Read and Operate a Magnetic Base/Dial Indicator
Using DAC Worldwide’s Magnetic Base/Dial Indicator Set (208-015) facilitates a variety of critical measurement tasks and machinery checks associated with mechanical maintenance. This common measurement tool is for shaft and coupling alignment, gear reducer optimization, and chain/belt drive alignment. It has been popular in industry due to its maximum utility and durability while ensuring a long, accurate service life.
Expand Training with Additional Mechanical Options
The Chain Drive Training System Plus is only one of DAC Worldwide’s expansive mechanical training products, including a Combined Mechanical Trainer (200), a Belt Driver Trainer (201), a Quick Start Chain Sample Board Package (838-PAC), and many more!
Optional Student Training Manual and Textbook Available
A copy of this course’s Student Training Manual and Textbook are available as educational supplements to this training system. Sourced from the Exercises and Learning Activities, the Student Training Manual takes the technical content contained in the learning objectives, and combines it into one perfectly-bound book. The textbook, called Industrial Mechanics and Maintenance, presents clear objectives and performance standards for learners. If you would like to inquire about purchasing Student Training Manual or Textbooks for your program, please contact your local DAC Worldwide representative for more information.
